Mexico Colors is a cultural architecture framed wall art print with a few potted plants at the foot of the wall. Cacti and something broad-leaved stand in clay pots on the step — the only living things in a picture otherwise made of plaster, paint and shadow — and they are what stops it reading as a photograph of an empty street.

Frame, shatterproof plexiglass and hanging kit arrive together. The wooden frame does something specific with this image: it repeats the material of the door and the pots, so the whole thing reads as one object rather than a picture stuck onto a wall. Plexiglass suits the rooms this belongs in — entrances and hallways, where a frame gets caught by coats and bags more often than anyone admits.

Hang it on a plain warm wall, or on white. A patterned wall behind a picture of a textured wall is one surface too many. In an entryway, 45x60 cm sits well above a shoe bench. 60x90 cm works on a stair wall or a wide hallway approached head-on. 30x40 and 40x50 cm fit a kitchen wall or a small office where you are close enough to see the plaster.

The Frame

The frame is solid pine with a slim 20–25 mm profile, chosen to hold the artwork without competing with it. Four colours to choose from: white, wood, dark wood and black. White and black keep the look graphic and clean; the two wood tones warm the piece up and sit well against neutral walls.

Your poster arrives already mounted behind the plexiglass with the hanging hardware fitted, so it goes straight onto the wall. Frame depth and construction can vary slightly between production hubs.
